How to Watch Your Film VOD Rental with GATHR Movies Apple TV app

You can watch your Film Video on Demand Rentals directly on your Apple TV using the GATHR Movies app. Follow the steps below to install the app, get verified, and start watching.

Requirements

To use GATHR Movies on Apple TV, you’ll need:

  • A Gathr Film VOD rental made on Gathr.com with the same email address as your Apple TV account
  • An Apple TV device - recommended: HD or Apple TV 4K (tvOS 13.0 or later)

  • A reliable internet connection

  • A Film Video on Demand rental that supports playback on TV apps


1. Download the Gathr Movies App

  1. Turn on your Apple TV and open the App Store.

  2. Use the Search bar and type “GATHR Movies.”

  3. Select the GATHR Movies app from the results.

  4. Click Get (or the cloud download icon) to install the app.


2. Open the App

Once installed:

  1. Go to the Apple TV Home Screen.

  2. Open the GATHR Movies app.


3. Sign In With Your Gathr Account

When the app loads, a QR code will appear on your TV screen.

  1. Use your phone’s camera to scan the QR code.

  2. The Gathr Device Confirmation page will automatically open on your phone with the code pre-filled.

  3. Confirm that the code on your phone matches the code shown on your TV.

  4. Once confirmed, your Apple TV will automatically connect and sign you in.


4. Access Your Library

After you’re signed in, you’ll see the main sections of the GATHR Movies app:

  • Film Video on Demand rentals – All Films VOD rentals you’ve purchased or unlocked

Select any title to begin watching.


5. Troubleshooting

App not found in the Apple TV App Store

  • If possible, use the recommended Apple TV HD or Apple TV 4K (tvOS 13.0 or later)

  • Confirm your App Store region is set to a supported country.

QR code won’t scan

  • Increase screen brightness on your TV.

  • Adjust the distance between your phone and the QR code.

  • Close and reopen the GATHR Movies app to generate a new code.

Video won’t play

  • Confirm the Film VOD rental supports TV App playback (depends on film owner settings) by writing to support@gathr.com.

  • Check your internet connection (minimum 10 Mbps recommended).

  • Force-quit the app and reopen it.
