How Theatrical on Demand® works for Film Owners, Venues, and Featured Talent

Have you received an inquiry for your Film, Venue or Talent profile? Read on to find out everything you need to know about how it works.

Getting booked for a Film Screening is easy and risk-free. Find out how the process works:

When you send an offer and accept a Theatrical on Demand®  Film Screening inquiry, your booking is tentative until the Screening reaches its minimum revenue. Once that happens, it means the Host has sold enough tickets to cover all the booking costs and they can confirm the Screening. A confirmed screening means that the Screening is no longer tentative, and you will be paid for your booking.

Note: After you've created your Talent offering, Event space, or Film on Gathr, and toggled on Theatrical on Demand® in your Preferences section, it's available for booking. From then on, Hosts can request to book you for Film Screenings.

This process occurs for all bookings included in a Film Screening:

  1. Film Owners
  2. Venue Owners
  3. Talent

For Film Owners

   1. Hosts send you a screening request from your Film Details page. You receive an inquiry to your Messages inbox - accessible from your Dashboard.

   2. Set an offer price and a deadline for confirmation and send your offer to the Host.

Choose the payment structure that works best for you. You can select from a flat fee, an hourly fee, a per-person fee, and a share of ticket sales for your booking.

If the Screening doesn't meet its minimum funding goal before your deadline, the Screening and your tentative booking are cancelled.

   3. Host accepts or declines your offer (when a host declines your offer, you can adjust it and send them a new offer).

When the Host accepts all offers, they can publish the Screening

   4. Host publishes Screening and starts selling tickets.

This is a great moment to share your Event among your community, on your social media accounts, and on your personal website.

   5. Film Screening sells enough tickets to cover all Booking costs - Film, Venue, and Talent costs are covered. Then, the Screening is confirmed by Host.

When a Screening is confirmed, your payment is now guaranteed

After the Event, most payouts are issued within 36 hours.

For Venue Owners

   1. Hosts send you a screening request from a film they chose to screen. You receive an inquiry to your Messages inbox - accessible from your Dashboard.
